Critical Quest is moving forward, and we are thrilled to share our progress! This is a passion-project fueled by quarantine and pure nerd energy, and we hope this is just the beginning.

Choose your class:
Customization is an integral part of tabletop games, and we’d be remiss to neglect it. We currently have three class options:
BARD ROGUE FIGHTER
Each comes with class-specific design choices and unique tools to equip on your quest. If you can’t decide your class, we’ve whipped up a handy test to help you find what will suit your strength best:
Face your trials:
A letter from your missing aunt reveals her impossible whereabouts: in a fantastical realm of dragons, feudalism, and poor hygiene. And without your help, she’ll remain trapped with the wizard who captured her forever. You will be equipped with all the gear you need to assist your aunt remotely. Together, a dimension apart, you will tackle the trials, conquer her captor, and get your aunt back home.
Gather your party:
You can play the chest through with multiple friends and housemates-- though we would recommend no more than four. There is only one theme for each chest, so you will collectively be working under the class you’ve selected.
Equip your gear:
All game materials are yours to keep, and you can expect to find things like a vintage journal, a quill, a spyglass, custom d20, hand-carved medallions, and many, many secrets.
Why Pre-Orders are Important:
Despite all the games and content we create, we’ve never done something quite like this before. We’re designing a layered mystery that celebrates tabletop gaming and brings some of that world into your home. That means A LOT of trial and error, playtesting, idea boards, long walks muttering to ourselves, research, product testing, and sleepless nights.
We want your game to feel like a treasure well-earned, and pre-orders help us determine how much custom material to stock and prepare, and how much time we will need to do so. Because pre-orders come with a bit of a wait, they’re also not sold at full retail value. Which means you will be helping us grow and save money while doing it!
